it has been a long time coming, but we have finally got rayko to release a small collection of his infectious creations with us. he first cropped up on nang with his distinctive addition to volume 3 of our array series which picking up the record of the month accolade in mixmag and went down a storm at the nang parties. >in the cave< is a two track ep with an edit from ohm fat, acting as a prelude to an album due out next year.
today we bring you the return of atelewo (osunlade & the pasta boys) with a classic follow up to the already well known label staple new day. this time we move a little further with a more percussive, brass driven soul song about what else but love. infinity proves to continue with solid production and sound of the teams collaborative efforts. sendai is a simple mood based groove honoring and acknowledging the loss in the tsunami of 2011. a simple gesture of remembrance this one adapts a local newscaster explaining the devastation and sorrow. as always we here at yoruba hope that this new release not only starts the new cycle of 2013 off well, but that it brings forth a new direction. enjoy!
this is first single cut from the long awaited japanese deep house maestro kuniyuki takahashi s feather world (mule musiq cd 39, release on 21th jan!). kuniyuki invited many amazing gest musicians from bugge wesseltoft, henrik schwarz, fumio itabashi and name a few. this first single cut is club friendly version of the collaboration track with legendary 80 s poetry singer anne clark . her our darkness are our all time favorite. kuniyuki version is Êhomage to his all time favorite early 90 s house track. our very favorite new artist barnt version is his unique dark kraut rock oriented house.
mutual musik is back on deck: the label, which for the time being is based in berlin and munich, – kicks off its third ep with liell. liell stands for >liebe ist ein leises lied< (love is a quiet song) and the four new tracks from label captain johannes beck reveal techno from a poetic and fragile aspect. beck’s sophisticated compositions are characterized by slowly evolving arcs of suspense, simultaneously careful and powerful piano cues, and basses which delve into the innermost realms. the tracks are created for the club but go beyond musical fads and count on a timeless style
autumn days are coming quite near and with >jahreszwei< – an ambient tape by berlin based artist the marx trukker – we deliver the soundtrack for that more thoughtful time of the year. as the 4-track ep is put together chronological (starting with the track that was produced last), the a-side is more dark and dusty (roughly produced beginning of autumn with an electric bass, an old portastudio and loads of forbidden recording-techniques) while the b-side shines a bit brighter and lighter (produced digital end of summer, concentrating on the dave smith evolver synthesizer only). so take a walk through a forest next to you and enjoy the beautiful autumn-nature while having >jahreszwei< on your ears!

the secret of luck lays not in property, but in giving. therefore klangkuenstler and shemian are releasing their first ep on kallias which is at the same time the first in 2013. the >gluecks ep< spreads this feeling through a successful conception of ist four tracks. the jointly produced >spiel mir das lied vom glueck< initiates this in a wonderful way. through playful chimes and mellow organ sounds paired with melancholic strings it let sunny feelings come up even in cold winter days. the remix of geschwister schuhmann is an outstanding and yet completely different interpretation, with its dreamy vocals, nestled in a warm and spherical soundshell created by the interplay of gentle organ sounds with synths, strings and mallet percussions. with >einhornallee< the b-side starts with a driving pumping groove and a hard syntheziser line dissolved by gentle chimes. >welttraum< fascinates because of an dramatic arrangement supported by extremely tense strings and fullfills it with a catchy xylophon melody.

after 21 releases and covering most areas of house its time to introduce anaxander and present a new sound to the ever growing local talk catalogue. the a side antionette is a perfect electronic influenced body-locking flavored track, an organ alongside a bouncing bass and a rhythmic feel is sometimes all you need to get moving ! its the b-side that really take things to the next level. anaxander both puts his own clever stamp on these two tracks and delivers acid in the old, vintage sense that owes more to the raw and unpolished club tracks played by ron hardy at music box than to the old school house vibes you have expected from local talk. both cat feeding and i want you now are two tracks of a new era of local talk. innovating, futuristic and original produced electronic analogue funk for 2012
2013 repress !!darko esser is back on curle with the deep and dubby builder >clean slate<. on remix duties this time are two fast rising techno talents, dvs1 (klockworks, transmat) and lucy (stroboscopic artefacts, curle).
basswalkers! calling all basswalkers to the isolated system. it is time, time for round two. hope you like yours nice n ravey because aÑas & 785s taking us way way back with this one. please keep your arms and legs inside the time capsule. and strap in, its gonna be a 90s sorta ride. you may remember our last session with henning baer, norman nodge and musk? it turned into a bit of a showdown, with all sorts of basswalks proliferating the floor. well, now its aÑas & 785s turn to take the lead. some of you are new here, so were easing you in gently with break even first. dont be scared, this is a harmless sort of menace—its bark is far worse than its bite. besides, wait til you hear the breakdown. wooh. now youre all warmed up, let it all go with let it go. really, no holds barred please. trust, you will enjoy it all the more. you can collect your things at the end.
call it whatever you want. we think of it simply as techno music. deep, raw, mystical and industrialesque music that makes you think about your desires and gives you the illusion of clearing away time and space. having lived in almost all corners of the world, it took nothing more than finding themselves in berlin, a dose of random chance and a barside conversation for irakli and yacoub to figure out they had similar views about music - and so, i/y was born. i/y 001 is a three track intense journey into the depths of techno.
john daly dropping a monster track on his own 1track records! moving away from the previous deeper and chicago rooted tracks on the label he drops a massive peak time house track with massive chords and a pulsating sub baseline. flipside has a more stripped and dubby pandora box remix... difficult to pick a favorite!!

domenico writes and co-writes all the songs, sings, plays guitar and designs the rhythmically adventurous soundscapes heard on cine prive. with the help of old (pedro sa, alberto continentino, moreno veloso, kassin, and adriana calcanhotto) and newer (money mark, darin gray & glenn kotche of duo on fillmore) friends and musical collaborators the songs were recorded live in the studio with most tracks calling on no more than three musicians at a time.
nice price deal !!! ltd nice price action!! the debut debukas ep firmly planted him as one to watch, with four tracks that explored underground electronics with a pop sensibility and a grounding in classic house and techno. this new seven track ep continues down this route with his rich analogue sound and soulful vocals again taking centre stage.
it is the end of the world (again!) and laut & luise gladly welcomes a new artist to the family: on akumal ep - his first vinyl release - christopher schwarzwalder puts together four exploratory, driving and hypnotic tracks. after waking you from your slumber with >keep< (a1), >jakob< (a2) entices you to take a little ride into the sunset. on the flip side, >barely legal< (b1) easily brings you down into the night, while the hidden energy of >das ganze boot auf acid< (b2) will mesmerize you for the hours after the hours, leaving you in a place where time is of no interest.

anticon founder and instrumental rap innovator alias is reborn with fever dream, his sixth full-length for the label. alias acclaimed 2008 lp resurgam represented a culmination of the sound he had been chasing the previous five years -- a bewitchingly blue combination of icy atmosphere, haunted melodies and hard drums. he cleansed his palate with 2010s fallen house, sunken city, the modern boom-bap masterpiece he produced for emcee b. dolan, and when it came time to return to the alias oeuvre, he was ready for a reboot.

first 500 copies with a2 poster packaged in a gatefold cover!!!! the thunder from thuringia, genosse from gera, mr. minimal samba, the man that goes by many names is here to present to us his very first lp on none other than his solo action vakant home. about 2 years in the making, studio 10 takes mathias kadens life-long work as dj and producer, world wide tours, twenty something years of listening and thinking, machines and people, wraps a bow around it all, and delivers it with roses dipped in chocolate. always taking his time with production, mathias focus on quality over quality continues to pay dividends no matter the state of the economy. unique in many ways, studio 10 was also unique for the producer himself. never before has mathias incorporated into his music so much hardware, field recordings, messages, and invited friends and orchestral musicians to collaborate
taiki and nulight or to their friends rowan harrington and erka chinbayer have both been djing/producing for many years both in very different circles. taikis career started back in 2008 under his old alias name site 1 who was a house/electro producer. they joined forces and started working together in 2011 which now seems like a lifetime ago considering on what they have achieved in such a short time. when they first started out working together they were making a lot of dubstep, house and electro influenced bass music as we call it now. being heavily into garage, house and electronic dance music there sound heavily progressed across the spectrum of dance music. taiki and nulight released their first ep in february 2012 on subway recordings which gained a lot of support from the likes of mistajam, crookers, herve zinc, redlight, foamo, roska, benga, skream, adam f, hatcha, n type and more. gaining them a lot of frequent airtime on bbc radio 1, 1xtra, kiss 100 and rinse fm. now nearly a year and a half since they have joined forces, they have received massive support from some of the most respected djs out there not to mention air time nearly every week on radio 1 and kiss 100. with their next release on the horizon and due to drop december time 2012 on bengas very well respected label benga beats there is so much more that you will see from these boys and so much new material to hear.
luc who? marianni? this reclusive french composer paved the underground music history with a handful of mind-blowing lps but still managed to surprisingly fall under the radar. even the experts seem to have forgotten about him when there were clues all over the place! it is true luc marianni didnt belong to no family but his own, with his constant work-in-progress through the gathering of friends and the odd random musical chance meeting.
it is therefore with great pleasure that we offer for the first time in decades the scarce remaining stock of original copies from his first and last vinyls, hoping to turn some heads along the release of the remix ep on ddd records: ddd-lmr-t01 with remixes of jared wlison (detroit), dam mantle (glasgow) and nukubus (rotterdam).

DEATH BY MISADVENTURE - INTERPRETATIONS PART 2 (CLEAR VINYL)
coloured 12 Inch 20.12.12
next round for chymeras >death by misadventure< interpretations. this time, both remixes were made for >an island in space<, definitely one of the highlight tracks of the album. on side a, uncanny valleys jacob korn, who just released his debut longplayer >you&me<, turns the tune into an intoxicating hymn somewhere between house and techno. catchy, and with a wonderfully positive atmosphere, the track is pure bliss. on the b, dutch techno veteran orlando voorn delivers a piece of properly driving melodic techno. several melodies entangle to one big sound collage. there is no real beginning or end, like a neverending jam. a very unique track and so much more than a useful tool...
newly mastered and cut on 45 rpm, knuggles recordings issues two kicking club tracks by netto houz from their album >room 7101<. >noctambulism< and >rossis records< were recorded in 1997 under the strong influence and in deep adoration of the music released by the great chicago house labels of that time. vinyl only, limited to 200 copies.
it has been a memorable year for the luv shack. release after release, props after props, watching the guys build on a solid foundations and take it up a notch each time. if you listen to their first release (again), and then this new release, you will see just how far they have travelled in such a small time frame. and yes, it started with a couple of mini compilations and eps to see what the reaction would be. the reaction was good, actually no, the reaction was great, the right jocks took to the guys and the early eps and hence since, the luv shack posse have been locked up in a studio ever since. they have been productive, and more to the point, excelling in that production. it is going to be a brilliant 2013.
is it balearic hit their late 20s with another superb release - this time craig bratley steps up with analogue dreams. craig has earnt quite a reputation from only a handful of releases, including the weatherall favourite and classic cut >birdshell< on instruments of rapture. on analgue dreams, craig lays down a gently evolving, acid tinged piano slow burner, all mood and melody. first up on the remix we have the ever essential bonar bradberry who amps things up and takes a clonking bass riff down the disco for a real good time. on the flip crimea x pare the musical elements right down and build an epic remix from the raw ingredients, employing live percussion and shimmering synths. finally joes bakery dial down the tempo and incorporate some deft acoustic guitar and gentle moodswings alongside the musical elements of the original.
